In 2015, my partner and I travelled to the US for his work, and I signed up to a class at the Multnomah Arts Center. I'd intended to just get into the Open Studio, but I missed the deadline, so the only way to get access was to sign up to the last class with availability - Advanced Glazing. I wasn't really interested in a glaze class, but Sarah Renwalt was an amazing teacher. Reduction firing was new to me - using fun carbon-trap shinos and understanding the behaviour of iron and colourants in glazes. The open studio meant I could go in most days, but it was so busy - the smallest space I've ever had to work in! We each had about a hand width to work at. I made my first pinched teacups here - boy were they heavy.
